Bio
Luke Whittaker is an emerging curator and artist based in Brooklyn, NY. Born in Toronto, Ontario, he is a triple citizenship holder in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. Growing up in Toronto and Connecticut, Luke is a survivor of childhood Leukemia. He received his Masters in Curation from the Center for Curatorial Studies at Bard College, Annandale-on-Hudson, NY (2024), and his BFA in painting from the Rhode Island School of Design, Providence, RI (2020). While at RISD, Luke participated in the European Honors Program, where he lived and researched in Rome, Italy.
Recent projects include Biomes and Promenade: Flowers and Figuration in the Marieluise Hessel Collection, both presented at the Hessel Museum of Art, Bard College. He has held positions as a portfolio reviewer for RISD's Admissions, a Visual Arts Special Project Coordinator at Boston Center for the Arts, and a Teaching and Research assistant at Ontario College of Art and Design. Luke's current practice includes engaging with contemporary art practices through studio visits and exploring the methodologies and frameworks of the art market, material exploration, cultural heritage, and identity.
