With this video I wanted to explore a more psychological approach with palimpsest by stitching together nostalgic Disney films, in many cases during the introduction or middle of musical numbers, in order to exploit memory and nostalgia. I chose to use Disney films because they are recognizable and easy to follow narratively. By abruptly stopping the segments of film with cuts to distorted television static, I attempt to destroy flow and emergence. The video attempts to create a palimpsest in the mind of the viewer through visual and audio manipulation rather than embody it.
